Quick Update, Campfire collaborators!

The any story, anywhere Intro RPG is literally taking shape with our printer, as they've begun work on creating samples.

Once these samples are approved, the presses will start rolling, assembly follows soon after, and then shipping hits the streets!

We are so very grateful for your support and your patience. Piecing together a game like Campfire, with waterproof materials and anywhere-proof boxes, has been a process. We're thankful for your devotion and support.

In other news, an actual play is on the way! Author Wojtek Borowicz is running a session for Symphony Entertainment, to stream on Twitch. Excitement is high, and we look forward to sharing this exhilarating session of Blood On The Snow with you.

That's all to say, Campfire's next exciting phase is lighting up! We will keep you posted at every step.

Samples ahoy!

Our selected printer has arrived on a cost with us, and we've put in a request for the art they require.

Once we send it in, they'll manufacture a set of Campfire samples, ready to roll!

We also requested a breakdown of next steps, which we'll share here next week when we receive it.

Meanwhile, thank you all for your support! Each and every one of you went the extra mile for Campfire, and the result is an awesome intro RPG for any story, anywhere, and any one!

Thanks to the outreach efforts of author, Wojtek Borowicz, we'll also have recorded actual plays coming soon. We'll keep you posted, every step of the way, as Campfire catches fire!

Happy Friday the 13th, Campfire Fans!

This is one of our all-time favorite holidays, celebrated each year. It's an occasion for change and new surprises, and we've got three cool changes for you here to day:

First up, are you missing your Monthly Monster Hunt? 

If so, it could be because many of you - almost 200 - grabbed their free copy of Conquest, but a little less than half did not sign up for marketing email when they did it. It's a checkbox at the bottom of all of our online store purchases.

So, if you've missed one or both of the Monthly Monster Hunt series, #1: Tale of the True Tarasque or #2: Talos, Man of Bronze, the Original Iron Golem, sign up now! Use the homepage signup or grab Conquest if you've not already.


Next up, our new adventure path, the philosophy-focused Witch's Wyrd, launches next Tuesday, June 17, with a funnel adventure, Old John Stuart's Mill, and a 9AM PST launch party! 

You can watch it on the Witch Pleas YouTube channel or on BackerKit. The launch party features:
  • Author Archie Fields III discussing how he started introducing D&D to his philosophy class at the University of Calgary
  • Exploration of the use of gaming in the classroom to teach, through Archie's experience, much as he spoke about at GenCon 2024
  • The Witch Pleas focus on weaving education with gaming
  • Comparisons of the 5e version of Old John Stuart's Mill with the DCC version
  • Discussion of The Curse of Endless Hunger, the new spell in Old John Stuart's Mill, and how it can spawn legions of zombies - and worse undead!

So follow the project on BackerKit to receive the livestream link this weekend, and to back this funnel/1st level adventure for DCC and D&D 5e respectively, Old John Stuart's Mill!

As with many of our Witch Pleas titles, it's not just an adventure, it's a setting and a source for scholarship, with New Spells, New Magical Items, Rumors & Secrets, Curses, Philosophical Encounters and a Scholarly Essay on Philosophy in Fantasy RPGs!

Lastly, we have our printing updates. I'm still receiving quotes from printers, not because I'm shopping around, but because so many details of Campfire are custom, like the case and cards and quantity of Story Sheet booklets. All of the printers we're talking with say they can do it, but none have arrived back with a definite quote yet.

You've joined our team during a time of major transition - moving shop and moving from paperback booklets to a stainless steel set with waterproof cards. It's taken longer than we had hoped, but we appreciate your great energy, gratitude and patience.

Dear Backers,

As many of you reached out, a Digital Distribution was not sent through BackerKit. Once we learned of this, we fulfilled through DriveThruRPG. 

If you backed Campfire at any level except for the $1 level, you should have received a complimentary digital copy through DriveThruRPG. If not, please reach out to let us know.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We were unaware of a 2-day review process and numerous other steps - like setting shipping weights for products we've not even gotten quotes from printers on yet - that BackerKit demands. Our experience has been with Kickstarter, which allows for immediate, pledge-segmented dispatch of emails and digital assets.

Again, if you have not received your digital copy through DriveThruRPG, and you pledged at any level above $1, please reach out to us.
